Stray Dogs in Supermarkets.

I popped across the road to our local IGA yesterday for double smoked ham and free range eggs (mmmm Carbonara!) and came home with a puppy dog.

She was wandering around the supermarket and at first I took no notice of her. It could be normal for a dog to be in a supermarket, it’s not entirely unacceptable. Then she proceeded to try to get the chickens and I thought perhaps she ought not to be in the supermarket after all.

I coaxed her up to the counters to find she’d been hanging around for two hours and had also visited the local gym. No one seemed to know what to do with her so here she is!

She’s exceptionally well-behaved and very well looked after, there were storms yesterday afternoon though and she was very scared!

We will find a vet today to have her checked for a micro chip.

In the mean time everyone send out messages into the etha for the owners to drop by the supermarket.

More soon……

The perils of a good relaxing bath!

Who doesn’t love roasted vegetables?! They’re fantastic, I especially like roasting an assortment of root vegetables, beetroot, carrot, parsnip! For dinner on Sunday I had all of these. On one side of my baking dish I tossed trimmed beetroot and parsnip with rosemary whole garlic cloves, salt and pepper. On the other side I had slices of pumpkin and sweet potato. Yum! What a fantastic dinner! So in the oven it all went, initially at 150°C then I decided to turn it up to 180°C because I didn’t want to wait forever for those vegetables.

Then I ran myself a bath. Mmmmm! A beautiful bath with lavender bubble bath and I put some ‘stress less’ tea in my bath so I could float amongst the chamomile, lavender, skullcap and citrus peel. I made myself a cup of Lime Sencha tea, hopped in the bath and lay back with a mud mask on to drink my tea. What decadent luxury! How wonderful.

Aaanndd… I fell asleep.

Whoops!

I awoke with a start when my wonderful partner rushed in yelling ‘babe the vegetable’s are burnt!’
In the infamous words of Winnie the Pooh ‘Oh bother!’
They weren’t THAT burnt though, we still ate them and had a lovely dinner. Still, perhaps not advisable to fall asleep in the bath, or maybe the message is don’t get in a bath when the oven is on. Either way ; )

Take care all!

Study and chocolate, a chicken and the egg question…

I’m on a roll with my studies, feel great about this assignment, although I must confess I have 6 different blocks of chocolate open on the coffee table. No, that’s a lie, two blocks are the same and only one of them is open.

I’m not sure where the desire for chocolate sets in. Is it when I’m stuck and don’t know the answer, motivational chocolate? Or, is it when the answers flow, reward chocolate?

So am I on a roll because of the chocolate or am I eating the chocolate because I’m on a roll.

There are other foods on the table as well, a lemon twist pastry thing, half a banana and a cup of jasmine tea. Could these be influential factors in the situation? There are several food groups represented here, although my pyramid is a little top-heavy…

Hmmm.

What nonsense!
